Who is categorized as a school administrator?

Anyone serving in a position above the rank of classroom teacher may be classified as a school administrator.  There are "certificated" administrators who are required to certified by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing(CTC). These persons are usually involved in academic administration.  They include, for example, school principals, assistant principals, directors, supervisors and associate and assistant superintendents and superintendents who are licensed by the state.  Other administrators are “classified” personnel: non-licensed professionals who have expertise in non-academic matters, such as facility maintenance; purchasing; business planning, and site security.
