What if someone complains about me?

The Education Code provides that before the District can place derogatory information in a person’s personnel file, the affected person has a right to be advised of the information and given the opportunity to respond to it.  In some cases, school districts have published policies that require complaints to be in writing and signed by the person complaining -- the aim being to avoid gossip and anonymous derogatory information that can impact a person's job or career.  You will need to check with your local school district to see what (if any) such policies exist.
